The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) invites applications for a full time, 9-month, tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Computer Information Technology (CIT, see www.wku.edu/cit), to begin January, 2023.
The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences offers undergraduate and graduate programs including master's degrees in Computer Science and Engineering Technology Management, as well as bachelor's degrees in Architectural Science, Civil Engineering, CIT, Computer Science, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology Management, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, and Mechanical Engineering. The CIT program also offers graduate cybersecurity courses as part of the Cybersecurity Concentration in the Homeland Security Sciences, Master of Science degree, which is offered by the Physics department of the Ogden college.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses across all disciplines of computer information technology including, but not limited to databases, networks, architecture, security, programming, and information technology management. In addition, they may participate in advising, course/curriculum development, scholarly research, and teaching in an environment where collaboration and collegiality are valued. Service to the program, school, college, university, and profession is expected. Industry and professional experience, applied research, and grant development capabilities are highly desirable. The school also welcomes candidates with evidence of research potential and effectiveness in teaching, especially online.
By the time of appointment, applicants should have an earned doctorate degree in computer information technology, computer information systems, computer science, or a related discipline from a regionally accredited institution. If the successful candidate is ABD at time of appointment, WKU guidelines found in the WKU Faculty Handbook Section II.A.2 will be followed.
