First News Anchor - Producer
WDAY-TV, the #1 station in Fargo, North Dakota, is looking for a First News Anchor/Producer.
First News newscasts runs from 5 am – 7 am on Monday through Friday. The position would also require you to add content to radio newscasts and online articles.
WDAY is an Emmy award winning, locally owned and operated station covering eastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota. We produce more than 30 hours of local news each week. We have a staff of over 35 journalists working in news, weather and sports. Our newsroom includes spacious work areas for each employee, a makeup room, meeting spaces and a hangout area complete with couches and televisions.
WDAY has helped launch the careers of many news professionals around the country. We have alumni in many of the county's top markets including Minneapolis, Denver, Phoenix, Detroit, Chicago, Tampa Bay, Albuquerque, and Las Vegas.
Fargo is the largest city in North Dakota and borders Moorhead, Minnesota. The metro population is over 240,000, including the cities of Fargo and West Fargo in North Dakota and Moorhead and Dilworth in Minnesota.
Position Requirements
The successful candidate should have at least one year of anchoring experience as well as exceptional writing, communication and organizational skills. We are looking for a leader who feels comfortable working well with others under deadline pressure on multiple platforms. Must have a valid driver's license with a driving record that is insurable by the company.
