The UConn School of Business is seeking a temporary position supporting Global and Experiential Education for our master’s STEM programs. This position plays a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant and inclusive student experience. The duties of the position include:

  • Assists with event planning, coordination, and implementation, virtually as well as at UConn campuses or externally throughout the state of CT and surrounding states.
  • Supports the planning, execution, and evaluation of student conference and competition participation and mentorship activities.
  • Assist in overseeing student clubs and peer mentorship programs, ensuring alignment with program goals.
  • Coordinate weekly communications, including newsletters and social media content, to promote events and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with supervisor to hire, train, and evaluate student workers, committees, and volunteers.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • At least two years’ work experience.
  • Experience with event planning.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently; excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze, think critically, and problem-solve.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a higher education environment.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a full-time, temporary position with a schedule of 40 hours per week for an initial period of six months, with the possibility of extension dependent upon department needs and available funding. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required in support of program activities. The position will require work both at the Stamford and Hartford campuses, and some remote work may be possible.
