JOB SUMMARY

The University of Connecticut, Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR), is seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable administrative services professional to serve as a Research Development Assistant. This position will provide key operational support for internal funding programs, limited submission competitions, and other research development initiatives.

OVPR internal funding programs provide research seed funding to faculty on a competitive basis, allowing them to do the preliminary work necessary to win external grant funding or lead to achievements consistent with the highest standards of accomplishment within a discipline. Limited submission opportunities are grant or awards (often prestigious) which allow only a limited number of UConn/UConn Health faculty to apply. The commonality between these programs is that both require internal competitions or selection processes that involve interfacing with faculty applicants, collecting and organizing applications, organizing review teams of faculty experts, and managing systems and records.

The Research Development Assistant will work under the supervision of the Internal Funding Coordinator, who oversees internal funding programs, limited submissions, and other capacity-building research development initiatives, and will be part of the larger Research Development Services team.
