Assistant Teaching Professor - Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering - #077463

 

The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department (MAE) at Syracuse University is seeking applications for an assistant teaching professor position beginning Fall 2024.

 

The faculty member is expected to advance the department by providing excellent instruction at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. A strong commitment to teaching excellence is essential, and preference will be given to candidates who can teach fundamental courses in the general areas of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, including but not limited to Statics, Dynamics, Manufacturing, Materials, Mechanics of Solids, Structures, Design, Thermal-Fluids Sciences, and Controls. Applicants are expected to have an earned doctorate or its professional equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.

 

The successful candidates will be expected to teach up to six undergraduate/graduate courses per academic year; and will participate in all aspects of the department’s mission, including teaching, supervision and advising of undergraduate and graduate students, serve as mentor for senior design projects, and other service responsibilities as directed by the Department Chair.
