Summary

            The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Technician is to collaborate with the overall Facilities Staff to upkeep, maintain, repair, and renovate campus property.  The Maintenance Technician maintains and repairs basic building functions, as well as appliances, entry keys and lock systems, windows, flowing, walls, ceilings, electrical equipment, sprinkler equipment, generators, emergency lighting, interior and exterior building lighting, fire alarms, extinguishers, security systems, and thermostats.  Additionally, the Maintenance Technician changes filters and performs preventative maintenance on all HVAC equipment and building plumbing systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

                Duties include painting, plumbing, maintaining work logs, stocking and organizing the maintenance shop, keeping machinery and equipment in good working order, and any other duties as assigned.  Maintenance Technicians must project a customer focused and professional image during all interactions with internal and external customers.  The Maintenance Technician serves in an on-call rotation for maintenance emergencies 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.  The Maintenance Technician will be required to report to work to support building staff and residents with emergent issues while on-call.
