Year-round Maintenance Manager at Guest Ranch in Wyoming - Housing Included!
Lost Creek Ranch & Spa in Moose, WY. is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager year-round. The position includes directing a team during the seasonal operations (May – October) and maintaining the ranch during the off-season when the property is closed and only accessible via snowmobile.
The Maintenance Manager reports directly to the General Manager. During the off-season, they provide local leadership and presence over a skeleton staff that winters on the property.
Primary responsibilities include - general upkeep and maintenance of Lost Creek Ranch and all that encompasses: grounds, vehicles, equipment, structures, electric, plumbing, waste, pool and spa, and general maintenance. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing and training the seasonal maintenance staff to perform work safely onsite, while also overseeing relationships with licensed contractors on larger projects.
The Maintenance Manager’s role may evolve during the busy summer season, but a strong working relationship with the maintenance department is critical to ensure efficient and effective asset management, coordination with the General Manager and the highest quality experience for the guests. The Maintenance Manager needs to have a keen eye for detail, but also be able to prioritize work, think strategically and make thoughtful recommendations to the General Manager.
In the shoulder season, the Maintenance Manager will work to winterize the property and all structures, while overseeing third party contractors, fuel & propane storage, boiler maintenance, kitchen shutdown, etc.
Primary responsibilities in the winter include – checking structures, snow removal, maintaining snowmobile trails and road access with the NPS. During downtime the Maintenance Manager should have the skillset to think strategically on improving physical infrastructure and assets, tracking maintenance records and documenting infrastructure updates.
Infrastructure includes - 10 guest cabins, a lodge, office and spa. Equipment, vehicles and tools and the water system. It should also include all underground utilities, roads, fencing and any other improvements. Please note, Ranch infrastructure is aging and, in some cases, has limited functionality. The Maintenance Manager is encouraged to identify potential problems before they occur, and to make strategic recommendations for replacement and repair within the budget constraints for the Ranch.
