Benefit Liaison
Serve as the primary designate who assists the patient and/or representative and hospital staff with the processing of information to the State of Connecticut Department of Social Services. Optimize hospital reimbursement through the coordination of the application data for Title XIX (Husky A, B, C, and D), SSI and SSDI for hospital and after-care coverage. The Liaison has responsibility for coordination of inquiries and referrals from referral sources to ensure timely and financially appropriate inpatient admissions.
Qualifications
Associate's degree (A.A. or A.S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and three years related experience and/or training. Excellent interpersonal skills.
Minimum of three years experience in hospital patient financial environment or with government agency relative to medical assistance determination.
Comprehensive knowledge of Department of Social Services regulations regarding Title XIX (Medicaid), Social Security Disability Income, Supplemental Security Income eligibility and benefits. Ability to develop procedures relevant to position.
Full Time position/40 hours per week
