Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine

 

The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM) at Florida International University (FIU) invites applications for a full-time Chief Administrative Officer position within the Dean’s Office. This position will serve as a senior administrator for the Office of the Dean and the Office of Finance and Administration within the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. The Chief Administrative Officer will advise and make recommendations to the Dean of the College of Medicine regarding the planning and implementation of strategic initiatives and monitor performance measurements; recommend changes in organizational systems, policies, and procedures in line with FIU and HWCOM; and direct, supervise and coordinate the overall operations for the Dean’s Office administrative support.

 

The role will direct and supervise the overall operations for risk management, quality management, privileging/re-privileging and credentialing, and medical records. The selected applicant will work in collaboration with the Associate Dean of Clinical Operations, to review, analyze, share insight, develop solutions, and identify opportunities for operational integration and efficiencies within the clinical operations, clinical quality, and risk management. The position will also focus on various special projects including but not limited to; working with assigned leadership in the execution of the clinical operations improvement plan; outline and document workflows, including clinical compliance, risk management and data quality; participate in FIU Academic Health Care tasks as assigned by HWCOM leadership.

 

Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree in areas of Business Administration, Finance or related field and 10 years of experience, or a bachelor’s degree in areas of Business Administration, Finance or related field and 12 years of experience. Five years of the required experience must be working with senior leadership. Desired qualifications include previous experience overseeing clinical operations, extensive knowledge of clinical regulatory requirements, and proven experience ensuring compliance.
