Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist, Boca Raton, FL.
Summary of Responsibilities Include:
- Support of the EH&S fire safety program, including but not limited to liaison to State Fire Marshal and coordination of SFM inspections of facilities and construction sites, responding to fire alarms, coordinating corrective actions for fire safety deficiencies.
- Support of general EH&S operations, i.e. record keeping, training, equipment maintenance, EH&S facilities and vehicle maintenance, etc.
- Performs special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and four years’ experience as an Environmental Health and Safety "generalist" with knowledge and experience in the areas of biological, physical, and chemical hazards, fire safety, and management of hazardous materials and wastes required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to success in this position.
Must also have excellent customer service, organizational and time management skills.
