The City of Salisbury is seeking self-motivated candidates who will perform technical work repairing and maintaining traffic signals and traffic control devices. Main duties include but are not limited to: installing, repairing, maintaining and troubleshooting for controllers, switches, relays, flashers, loops, cameras, cables and related traffic control equipment; setting up and testing controllers and cabinets; performing street light maintenance and underground locates; maintaining inventory and stocking bucket truck; and receiving work orders on traffic signal failures and related problems. Applicants with prior experience in fiber optics, aerial construction and restoration will be given preferential consideration. Minimum Requirements:
? High school diploma or GED with coursework in electronics technology and moderate experience in the electrical/electronics field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
? Valid NC Drivers License
? IMSA Traffic Signal Technician level I preferred, or the ability to obtain within one year of employment
? Fiber optic trouble-shooting and repair is a plus
? Involves heavy manual labor, at times under extreme weather conditions
? Required to work outside of normal hours in emergency or on-call situations
