Salary Range: $10.00 – $13.00 per hour, DOE
Job Summary:
Responsible for the coordination, implementation, and scheduling for the Adventure Camp summer program.
Will work directly with staff to plan, direct, and evaluate a variety of adventure-related activities throughout
the summer for youths 9-14 years of age.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for the supervising adventure camp staff;
Plans and coordinates age-appropriate activities that relate to the adventure of the week for two different age
groups; Communicates daily with the Recreation Coordinator about accident/incident reports and supply
requisitions; Works with the Recreation Coordinator to plan a comprehensive staff training program for adventure camp staff; Assists in any first aid or emergency situation;
Participates in all activities with campers and staff Writes an end of season report detailing the successes and failures of the camp program, as well as assessing
staff performance.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform other related duties as assigned or needed.
Job Specifications:
High school diploma plus two years experience in a summer camp setting or with youth programs, one year
supervisory experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training,
which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work;
Must obtain CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification prior to camp start date; CPR, AED & First Aid
Certification offered as part of staff training;
Must have good public relations skills, and be a good organizer;
Must display an attitude of cooperation and the ability to work well with others and work as a team player;
Ability to act in an emergency; Ability to communicate with management, co-workers and the general public with respect and in a pleasant and courteous manner Integrity in the performance of assigned tasks.
Travel Requirements:
Local travel to a variety of locations is required.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to temperature changes and is subject to
outside environmental changes; Constantly require clarity of speech and hearing, which permits the employee to communicate effectively; Constantly requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in an outside environment to accomplish tasks;
Occasionally requires driving a motor vehicle.
