Job Title: Homecourt Facility Specialist (Part-Time)

Hiring Salary: $9.54 - $12.18 per hour, DOE
Job Summary:
Provides customer service, education and information to all customers regarding the Meridian Homecourt.
Performs routine facility inspection, assists office staff, and sets up facility events, classes, and rentals on
a daily basis.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Provides customers with facility information;
Assists Facility Site Supervisor with recreational programs;
Collects payments and revenues from participants in City Recreation Programs;
Set up facility for sporting events, community education classes, and other facility rentals;
Locks and unlocks recreation facilities;
Performs regular facility inspections;
Records score and times of games;
Checks scoreboard & game clock equipment before each game;
Notifies customers of any equipment problems;
Keeps a hand-written log of any incident;
Communicates with participants and enforces City, facility and league rules;
Reports league scores to Adult Sports Coordinator;
Acts as official scorekeeper;
Performs minor gym maintenance on a nightly basis;
May act as a backup for Site Supervisors and set up fields and or other gym facilities;
Reports accidents using approved forms;
Reports to the Recreation Coordinator (Facility Manager) on a weekly basis;
Monitors sports rosters for illegal players;
Enforce city ordinances such as smoking & alcohol policies.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform other related duties as assigned or needed.
Job Specifications:
Must be 18 years of age;
CPR and First Aid certified highly desired, but not required;
Working knowledge of multiple sports rules and proper time keeping procedures;
Visual acuity to read officials hand signals;
Must have good public relations skills;
Must be a good organizer;
Must be able to work evenings and some weekends;
Must display an attitude of cooperation and the ability to work well with others;
Ability to act in an emergency;
Ability to work as a team player;
Integrity, in the performance of assigned tasks;
Ability to communicate with management, co-workers and the general public with respect and in a pleasant,
courteous manner.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to temperature changes, night lighting
and is subject to outside environmental conditions;
Constantly requires clarity of speech and hearing, which permits the employee to
communicate effectively;
Frequently requires repetitive movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers;
Constantly requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to
function in an outside environment to accomplish tasks;
While performing the duties of this job the employee must occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
