EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY FOR:
This position plans, directs, manages and oversees the activities and operations of the City Clerk’s Office including public information, election management, and records management; provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Manager and City Council. This is an at-will position which is appointed by, and serves at the pleasure of, the Elko City Council.
This position requires: 1) Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in complex administrative office work in a City Clerk’s Office, in the fields of records management, office management, or a related field, preferably in a municipal government. 2) A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory responsibility; 3) Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration, or a related field; 4) A current valid driver’s license; 5) Possession of, or ability to obtain, Certification by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks as a Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC); 6) Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Notary Public License. The successful candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively and work in a spirit of cooperation with employees, elected officials, and the general public.
The annual salary range is $64,604 - $86,886 plus an excellent benefits package. Initial salary will be based upon qualifications.
