Central District Health has an exciting opportunity for
a Facility Manager in our Support Services Division!
This position is responsible for facility management of three Health District buildings in Boise, Mountain Home, and McCall as well as the supervision of all custodial staff.
Example of Duties
Program Management:
Plan, implement and administer a maintenance program for three buildings within the district
Maintain a preventive and predictive maintenance program for grounds maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and gas systems
Complete and maintain records and reports related to facilities and preventive maintenance programs
Recommend and manage budget for facilities operations
Develop and implement facilities management and maintenance policies and procedures
Direct the utilization and scope of contract maintenance services, supplies and equipment
Evaluate cost, time and manpower estimates
Evaluate, implement and support security systems and building access development
Consult with management about space requirements and remodeling or construction needs
Advise staff and management concerning project management, hazardous materials removal, life-safety and fire codes, and building standards and specifications
Provide input into department capital improvement plans
Solicit bids for building materials and supplies; develop contracts with maintenance companies; review and approve expenditures
Facility Maintenance:
Read building plans to develop space-planning concepts to present to management in order to maximize utilization and efficiency of clinic and office work areas
Coordinate preparation of newly built or remodeled areas for occupancy
Serve as a project manager for all facility remodel, construction, repair projects, and for major equipment and replacement and/or installation projects
Examine interior and exterior of buildings for damage and initiate necessary repairs
Coordinate maintenance of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and related systems
Insure grounds surrounding facility are cared for properly and sprinkler systems are maintained
Supervision/Leadership:
Supervision of a crew of contract custodians and one permanent custodian foreman including hiring, scheduling, evaluating
Serve as the Safety Officer for Central District Health Department
Maintain computerized security badging access system; respond to panic alarms and calls from night security guards
Minimum Qualifications
Some knowledge of management practices; program or project planning and implementation. Experience developing and evaluating policies and procedures.
Supplemental Information
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience planning, building, and constructing buildings or facilities and inspecting such sites for compliance with state, local and federal standards
Good knowledge of commercial building maintenance and mechanical preventative maintenance/operating techniques
Experience reading blueprints and specifications
Organizational skills; strong detail orientation
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Valid Idaho Driver's License
Some knowledge of developing and evaluating policies and procedures
Some knowledge of planning, building, and constructing buildings or facilities; and inspecting such sites for compliance with state, local and federal standards
Good knowledge of building codes
Some knowledge of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) related work
Some knowledge of supervisory practices
Some knowledge of repair and maintenance in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, building maintenance and grounds related work
