Ada County Highway District is now accepting applications for an Accessibility Inspector in the Traffic
Engineering Department. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a starting pay range of $19.62 - $22.55
per hour, DOE.

Primary Duties:
- The Accessibility Inspector conducts investigations and inspections of all temporary traffic control (TTC)
for construction activities within the public right-of-way and any permanent pedestrian facilities to
ensure accessibility by people with disabilities.
Qualifications:
- Requires considerable knowledge of ADA and related accessibility laws and regulations; the Manual on
Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD); coordinating ADA compliance and accommodation programs
as related to accessibility and work occurring within the public right-of-way; ADA and pedestrian design
elements and roadway design principles including the ability to interpret roadway plans, geometric
designs, and roadway safety. - The incumbent must have a thorough knowledge of construction practices and procedures; good
knowledge of materials used in construction and roadway development; good knowledge of work zone
traffic control signing and traffic safety procedures; ability to perform mathematical engineering
calculations; ability to read and interpret construction specifications and drawings; ability to prepare
effective inspection notes and testing documentation. - Must possess a valid Idaho driver’s license.
- Must either have or be able to complete training for ATSSA Traffic Control Technician & Traffic ControlSupervisor and obtain a flagger certification within 12 months of employment.
- Must have good experience with use of computer programs, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- Any combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skill and abilities may be acceptable.
